Chris had been a director and shareholder of his company for 3 years and realised that he had a choice - they were running a different business from the one they started and he’d need to change the way he worked if he was to grow it the way he and his fellow directors wanted. He asked for our support.
Chris stressed that he was looking to The Red Rubber Ball Company for a coach who could provide a sounding board, or as he put it “listen, probe, and keep me honest”. The confidential nature of our conversations was vital, as it would allow him to understand his behaviour and how he could change the way he worked. He also specifically looked for our business awareness and that we’d help him “to believe what was possible."
Our conversations looked at Chris’s passion in the business and outside work, encouraging him to set personal and business goals, whilst ensuring these were compatible (vital as he has a young family too). As a result he developed a clear vision for himself and for the company, which allowed him to produce a plan setting out his priorities, objectives and the action needed for each area to succeed. And now he’s implementing that plan.
After a series of one-to-one sessions and the subsequent accountability, Chris has taken on several new responsibilities, no longer focusing on client accounts, but for developing new product and income streams, as well as improving in-house skills and technology support - all vital as they continued their desired growth.
He has asked us to provide him with TheWorks for the coming year.
